The opportunity

Responsible for fulfilling sample orders for all brands of socks, underwear and apparel to support Design, Merchandising, Sales, Marketing and Product Development.  Stays updated on seasonal line changes and style information.  Also responsible for sample replacements as part of consumer returns. This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution Team.

  • Monitors Sample department inbox throughout the day and supports daily sample demands. Promptly replies to email requests providing status updates. 
  • Performs thorough inspection of garments for defects and proper fabric quality for all requests. 
  • Prepares finished samples by following the requestor’s instructions or sample department shipping guidelines. Ships packages using courier specific software to meet deadlines.
  • Follows department procedures to complete customer replacements. Suggests solutions when inventory for a replacement is not available. 
  • Maintains the Customer Replacement Log and routes potential quality issues to Supervisor.
  • Uses ruler or measuring tape to review POM’s and follows garment folding instructions. 
  • Moves and organizes cased inventory to maintain proper order and seasonal organization.
  • Assists with inventory management including removal of inactive inventory, completing archive processes and reorganizing aisles as needed to accommodate new items or programs.
  • Returns unused merchandise to location and keeps orderly work area.
  • Uses equipment such as pneumatic tagging, garment steaming, garment heat press to prep samples for presentation including trimming strings, steaming, pressing, labeling, folding, packaging, etc.
  • Cross trains to assist or temporarily fill in for other members of the team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
     

The requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 6 Months to 1 Year related experience
  • Work requires occasional light physical effort (several times a week).
  • Work environment has few disagreeable conditions.
  • Little or no exposure to hazards; very limited risk of injury or health problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) along with ability to use inventory and shipping systems
  • Good verbal and written communication required
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for a majority of the time
  • Able to work in a team-based environment
  • Vision required in order to perform required task associated with sample room requirements including the ability to see and distinguish color
  • Hearing required in order to hear instructions, safety warnings, and other communication
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English language effectively
